After action review takes advantage of "teachable moments" by providing a line-by-line evaluation of user statements and insights into what the simulated character was thinking.
SIMmersion systems provide detailed, consistent, nonjudgmental feedback during every step of users' training to ensure retention of their acquired knowledge and skill.
SIMmantha, an interactive coach, provides feedback for each conversational exchange. Her user-driven help features include insight into users' choices and the characters' responses,
as well as hyperlinks to review germane e-learning material. Users are able to replay or rewind the conversation at any time. At the end of every simulation play, users receive an assessment score with information on how that score was achieved, and they have the ability to review the video and transcript of the entire conversation.
SIMmantha gives users nonverbal feedback based on their conversation choices to indicate performance ranging from poor to excellent. She also indicates when a choice may be better in some situations than in others, making each conversational exchange a teachable moment.

SIMmantha's help may be hyperlinked to relevant parts of the e-learning material for a brief refresher of the classroom content. Additionally, users can access the e-learning material at any time, even as they are playing the simulation.
Users can replay parts or all of each conversation. If they are using voice recognition to talk to the character, they will hear back their own voice during the replay. They can also rewind the conversation and try a different approach, then see from SIMmantha why their new choice might have been better or worse for that particular conversation.
After finishing a simulated conversation, users receive a detailed assessment that allows them to track their progress, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and receive suggestions for improvement. The numeric score gives users a baseline achievement level they can try to beat, encouraging repeated practice. Users can also view a line-by-line evaluation of their conversation choices and replay the audio and video of their exchanges.
SIMmersion's feedback is thoroughly researched from authoritative texts and experts' experiences in the field and written by our team of professional writers, instructional designers, and educators. The objective and consistent feedback is like a personal instructor for each software user, allowing each individual to learn in the way he or she is most comfortable.
